Snow Days

I am WAY behind on blogging. I still need to do Natalie's 4th birthday update and update on my trip to Nicaragua...more of that to come!

This winter, I would consider it mild compared to the last two winters. It hasn't been nearly as cold, although recently we have had quite a few COLD days!  Just this last week was the first time we've had enough snow and the temperatures were okay to play outside. The girls have been begging to play in the snow, so on Friday, we went out for just a little bit. On Saturday morning, we had gotten about 5 or so inches of snow and it was warm (relatively speaking), so we were outside for at least an hour.

The girls made snow angels, had a snow fight, went sledding, and even helped build a snowman, even though the snow was far from packing snow!

Added bonus: Grandma B got to play outside with us too!

Natalies is FOUR!

A look back!

1st Birthday:

2nd Birthday:

3rd Birthday:

4th Birthday:

It's amazing how fast the years go by and they seem to go by quicker as each year goes by. I can still remember the day she was born!  Natalie is such a sweet, loving, funny, energetic, happy, smart little girl!  I always consider her my rule-follower. Not that she follows the rules 100% of the time, but she usually does what you ask (sometimes after being asked a couple times). She is so smart in school and obviously pays attention because she comes home with loads of new information each week!  She is a puzzle master and can lots of time putting puzzles together, probably one of her favorite activities!  She still likes to be rocked before bed, which we will gladly do for however long she wants! She makes friends very easily and has become quite smitten with a little boy in her class, Landon. According to her teacher, they always sit next to each other on the line and hold hands. I've seen the two of them interact and they definitely became instant friends! Natalie is the perfect combination of tomboy and princess. She loves to dress up in her princess clothes, but at the same time loves to run around in the dirt outside!

I sat down with her to ask her a few questions, and here is how she replied (sometimes with surprising answers):

What is your favorite food?: Watermelon
What is your favorite sport to play?: Soccer
What is the best show on TV?: Caillou (I would have guessed Doc McStuffins)
Who is the coolest person on Earth?: Mom :)
What is your favorite thing to learn about in school?: Legos
What are you best at doing?: Playing with my Ariel
If you could go anywhere on Earth, where would you go?: To the school park (which is right across the street from our house)
What is your favorite color?: Pink
When I grow up, I want to...: Drive a car
What is your favorite song right now?: North America (the Continent song at school)
What is your favorite book?: Elmo
What is your favorite season of the year?: Winter (I'm sure this is only because it is currently winter)
What is the best thing about camping?: I get to bring my blanket
What is your favorite snack?: Cheese puffs at school
Which food do you dislike the most?: Mushrooms
Who is your best friend?: Landon
Who is your favorite princess?: Ariel

Natalie, I hope you never lose your personality!  We love you and can't wait to see what this year brings for you!

Disney on Ice

I should be packing or cleaning since I leave for Nicaragua TOMORROW!!! However, Aubrey has decided to snuggle up to me this morning because she's not feeling 100%.

So, I decided to catch up on the blog since I've been a huge slacker lately!

A couple of weeks ago, we went to Disney on Ice, or as Natalie says 'DisneyWorld!' Haha.

We went last year, too. The show was completely different which I appreciated. Natalie loved it, especially Peter Pan. Aubrey did better paying attention, but I think she had more fun walking up and down the steps than watching.

Toy Story

Mickey and friends

Alice In Wonderland

Peter Pan

The Lion King

Snow White

Aladdin

The Little Mermaid

Tangled

Finale with all of the Princesses

I couldn't believe how expensive all of the souvenirs were!! I figured they would be pricey, but they were ridiculous! Natalie really wanted a stuffed Ariel doll, and they wanted $35 for it when it is only $20 on Disney's website!  Lucky for me, they were also having a sale on Disney's website, so I was able to get Ariel for Natalie and Stuffy (from Doc McStuffins) for Aubrey for less than $14 each with shipping!

After we went to Disney on Ice, I received an email that Frozen on Ice was coming to Indy in September and I was excited because that was what I had originally looked for, but at the time it wasn't coming to Indy. However, they want double the cost for the same seats and to me, it's totally not worth it just to see Frozen on Ice...they are definitely taking full advantage of the Frozen obsession for sure!

We had fun, and I'm sure we'll probably do it again next year!
