2 Month Check-Up

Aubrey was a happy and alert before her appointment.

Poor girl didn't know what she was in store for...SHOTS! 3 shots to be exact and one drinkable vaccine. I didn't take a picture of her after getting her shots like I did Natalie because her scream was super high-pitched and her face turned beet red!  Instead, I gave her a bottle of milk I had pumped this morning and she calmed down quickly.

Aubrey's 2 month stats:

Weight: 10.9 lb (between 25 and 50 percentile)
Length: 23 in (between 50 and 75 percentile)
Head Circumference: 14.5 in (below 5th percentile)

We saw Dr. Lito today instead of his wife. He thought Aubrey should have been gaining more weight than she is, especially considering her length and with her spitting up still and crying a lot he wanted to put her on some medicine to help with acid reflux. However, Natalie was 23 in and 0.8 pounds lighter and she didn't have to be put on medicine, but she also wasn't as gassy or spit up as much as Aubrey does.

So, Aubrey is now on Prilosec 2 times a day, once before morning feeding and once before evening feeding. She doesn't have to go back to the doctor for 2 months, so hopefully this will help her.

I can just hear my grandma saying, "A bird is going to poop on that lip." Haha...pouty face!

Shots take a lot out of a girl!
Yesterday, Aubrey cried ALL.DAY.LONG!  Nothing could make her happy except for if you held her facing out and put pressure on her belly. She also ate a TON yesterday. Just to give a little perspective, she averages eating about 80-90 minutes during the day and yesterday she at for 116 minutes total!

She looks so bald on top in this picture with the way the sun was hitting her...haha!
Poor Natalie, Mommy's time was completely consumed with a very fussy sister! However, Natalie was on excellent behavior. She has been such a good little girl lately! Now I'm going to jinx myself after saying that...haha!

Just chillin' with her baby
Her legs look so long and skinny in this picture.
Our BIG baby :)
I was SO glad when Bobby got home yesterday and I was able to leave the house and go to Zumba (which kicked my butt)!  I keep telling myself I need to photograph and document my weight loss progress so it will hopefully be of some kind of motivation to me, but with a baby only wanting to be held to sleep or be calm, I'm finding it hard to have motivation to get out of this recliner because the peace and quiet is amazing at the moment!

Little Mommy, Natalie

Natalie has really been loving "taking care of her baby" lately. She is so funny with her little baby dolls. She is also being pretty sweet to Aubrey, except for when her crazy side comes out and she gets a little too rough. She covers Aubrey up with a blanket, gives her hugs and kisses, tries to put the pacifier in her mouth when she is crying (which was a LOT today), and even tries to share her snacks/drinks. She does the same things with her baby dolls. She even will lay her babies on the activity mat with Aubrey or with herself so they can "play" too.

Natalie has been really good the last few days...Aubrey, not so much!  We are back to the crying often (it almost seems like she cries more than she is happy). Aubrey goes to the doctor tomorrow, but I'm not sure they will have much solution since I don't think it's really reflux because even though she stills spits up, it doesn't seem to be near as much as before.

That hair!  Drives me crazy she won't keep anything in it and when I do put it up, she just rips it out!

Natalie laid her baby with Aubrey, I guess Aubrey wasn't having it much!
Here is a comparison of the girls at similar ages. I should have gotten the picture at the same angle, but I didn't have Natalie's picture in front of me. From these pictures, I can seem similarities, but definitely see their differences too!

The Color Run

The Color Run in Indy was this Saturday. I was looking forward to it even though I hadn't trained and other than chasing Natalie around, the only exercise I had done was going to Zumba 1 day. Everyone that ran/walked it in our group, named A DAB of Color (DAB for our last names, Davis, Andreae, and Brodzinski) were Matt and Amanda, Bobby and I, my mom, and Matt's mom. Matt and his mom ran the entire 5k run, Bobby and I jogged/walked (jogging probably half or a little more than half and walking in between), Amanda and my mom jogged a little, but walked mostly.

I have to say, I was quite impressed with myself with the amount that I ran because I was really planning on jogging at the beginning and walking the rest. When I signed up (still pregnant), I thought it would be great motivation to start exercising after having Aubrey, but little did I know how unmotivated I would be and how hard it is to take care of 2 kids at the ages they are during the day. There is another race in September in Indy with the same concept, called Color Me Rad, that Amanda had to back out of, so I will probably run it in her place with my mom and Matt.  It is really only a month a way, so I better get my butt in gear!

My poor dad (with some help from Matt's stepdad) was in charge of the girls while we ran/walked. When we went to line up at 8a (which we didn't even cross the start line until 9a), Aubrey was screaming. I felt so bad for him because I know how it is!  He said Natalie was good for as long as she had to sit and Aubrey cried half the time while we were gone. I think he was the most tired of all of us even though he wasn't in the race. We really appreciate you being the babysitter and photographer today, Dad!  However, I don't think we will talk him into that again :)

The race was fun, but I really don't know if I would do it again just because it was completely unorganized and just a big cluster!  Like I said, the race instructions stated it would start at 8am SHARP, but because they started groups in waves, I guess to spread people out (which didn't make any difference) it made standing in line to start REALLY annoying! I would guess there were more walkers than runners and by the time we got to the finish line (which I was finishing jogging with Bobby's motivation) we basically were at a standstill and had to weave through people while walking to even get across because people just stopped to take pictures. Very interesting race to say the least.

On Friday night before the race, we all ate at Buca di Beppo's. We finally got the "pope" table after 3 previous attempts in years past. However, orders got screwed up, manager had to get involved several times, and it just wasn't very enjoyable at the end because of the huge mix-ups!  At least, Bobby and my meals were correct!

Aubrey slept through the entire meal and Natalie was pretty excellent considering she didn't eat until 7:30p and was up way past her bedtime!

Overall, we had a fun time with family and friends!

Some pictures from dinner:

Took this because it looks like Natalie's hair is fiber optic!

Happy 2 Months, Aubrey!

I can't believe 2 months is already here!  I almost forgot it was the 24th today until I looked at a calendar...good thing I did!

Aubrey doesn't go to the doctor until next week so I don't know how much she weighs, etc, but will soon find out. Her next doctor's appointment also involves shots!  Poor girl!

2 month updates:

She is smiling and cooing a lot more.

She is completely out of newborn anything. For clothes she wears 0/3 months and diapers, size 1.

Poor thing has diaper rash...STILL...and heat rash.

She has been sleeping anywhere from 4-7 hour stretches at night and usually goes to be around 10:30p.

She loves sleeping on her belly (just like her big sis).

When on her belly, she can move her head side to side.

Likes to hold her head up off your shoulder, but still working on building up those neck muscles so she can support her head.

She has been doing much better as far as not having to be held constantly, but still very much enjoys it (especially tonight!).

She hasn't been spitting up as much, but still does on occasion.

Love these cute little shorts that she finally fits in!

I cannot believe I got this great shot of the girls because this was how Natalie acted most of the session:

I got this shot of her to show how long her hair is getting. I had it up in a ponytail and in a barrette, but she kept taking both out...I finally gave up! I really don't want to cut her hair until it looks like she has a mullet. So, she's just going to have to deal with her hair in her eyes since she won't leave anything in her hair!

I am kind of proud of myself with today's photo shoot because I shot in manual mode only!  Maybe not the best shots, but I'm learning. I also played around in Photoshop...I need a class on that for sure!

I worked out for the first time today (thanks Alison for going). It was Zumba Hip-Hop night...my favorite. I haven't been for probably a year or so and I was surprised I still knew the dances!  It was fun and tiring, but felt really good to get out of the house and do something healthy. Hopefully, Alison and I will be able to continue to go to keep ourselves accountable. I am in no way ready for the Color Run this weekend, but I think it will still be fun!

I had my 10 year class reunion this weekend and didn't take ONE SINGLE PICTURE!  I am kind of disappointed in myself. I thought they were going to have a photographer there, but that must have fallen through, just like the band fell through (which I was really looking forward too). Nonetheless, it was nice to catch-up with some old friends, especially ones without Facebook!  That seemed to be the talk all night, how Facebook kind of defeats the purpose of reunions in a way because you kind of know what everyone is doing already. However, getting to see everyone was great, but next time I will definitely be taking pictures. I kind of forgot that I had my camera in the car anyway.
