Closed on Our New House!

We closed on our new house today!  Bobby joked afterwards that we now have a guest house too!  We have been praying everyday that God would lead someone to our house!  I am really hoping that it sells before summer ends, but before then would be even better!

Everyone has been telling us 'Congratulations' but I find that funny in a way because they are basically congratulating us on having 2 mortgages...haha!

I don't think we planned very well for this move, so thank goodness we aren't on a deadline of having to get all our stuff out, but have recruited a good amount of people, so hoping things go smoothly. Unfortunately, since this is a holiday weekend, a lot of people that could or would normally help us are out of town. We had always had the 30th on the documents as the closing date, but as time drew near it didn't look like we would really meet that date. I'm glad we did close because we will have a couple of extra days with the longer weekend to get moved in (at least all the big stuff). Little stuff can wait and be moved gradually if we don't have time.

Our new house is beautiful, and we have gotten many comments from those that have gone through it, so later on down the road if (when) we decide to move, I hope that our house is still highly commented so it sells several years on down the road.

Pictures to come soon!

Swimming and Swinging

Natalie LOVES the water and the swing!

Sunbathing beauty

Her ladybug float looks more like a crab or something to me.

She loves splashing in the water!

Her first sunglasses...that she hated!

Natalie was in the pool for over an hour and loved every minute! I think she will definitely be a waterbug like her Daddy!

My parents bought her a swing and she had a blast!

Amanda's Bridal Shower

This weekend was jam-packed with all kinds of events! I might have to break this up into multiple posts, just so it is easier to follow.

Natalie and I went up to South Bend, to Grandma and Grandpa B's house for Auntie Amanda's bridal shower. We left on Thursday night and came back on Monday. This was the first time that Daddy was away from his girls for that long since Natalie was born. We Skyped each night, so that was helpful. Thank goodness Natalie slept the whole way from Terre Haute to South Bend and back to Terre Haute, meaning I didn't have to stop mid-trip.

Friday was very interesting to say the least. My mom had clinicals all day and my dad was at work, so that left me at home with 3 dogs and a baby (Amanda and Matt left Petunia while they ran wedding errands). I was supposed to get stuff around for the shower, which I managed to accomplish, but it was a long drawn out process. My Grandma Toby (Natalie's great-grandma) stopped by with my 3 cousins since they were up for the shower from Tennessee. This was the first time that she has been able to see Natalie in person. They didn't stay too long, but it was a nice yet chaotic visit (mainly because the dogs were going crazy and would not stop barking).

After they left, some strange guys came to my parents house trying to sell something. Now, if you have never been to my parents house, it is in the middle of nowhere and is pointless for anyone to come out to sell things. You would be better off going into town or to a subdivision. They were scared of Petunia and Simba which I was grateful for because I'm pretty sure they were probably up to no good even though they gave me a business card. I never really found out what they were trying to sell, but oh well. Hopefully the dogs scared them off!

We finally got Amanda's shower set-up and the food made and were ready for the party on Saturday. Natalie has decided not to sleep through the night any longer and woke me up at least twice every night the entire time I was up there. Joy! Talk about sleep-deprived. Usually my mom will take her at least once, but she was completely exhausted from school. I really wish this not-sleeping-through-the-night-thing doesn't last because Natalie used to be such a great sleeper!

Luckily, Natalie was good at the shower. She definitely didn't lack any attention with all the women around. Amanda's cafe-themed shower turned out better than I had expected and she had a great turnout. While she was opening presents, she had gotten a few things very similar to what I have, in which I found out that she purposely registered for certain items to decorate like our house. I tried to talk into just buying our house, but that didn't happen...haha.

All ready for the party. Her daddy texted "that is quite the outfit" after seeing a picture of her...haha

She got A LOT of coffee!

Great-Grandma Toby

She was very excited about her trash can!

Funny story about this: she didn't register for this, but the lady that got it for her said every family needs one of these. Little did she know that Amanda eats popcorn like it's going out of style.

Continued funny story: She opened this present right after the popcorn maker and it was from the little flower girl in the wedding that also loves popcorn and does not know the lady that bought the popcorn maker. Perfect timing.

We had a great time at the shower! Can't wait for the bachelorette party and the wedding next month!

Congratulations, Amanda! Hope you enjoyed your party!
