Busy Weekend with Grandma Andreae

Bobby's mom came down for a visit for the weekend.

Friday we went to story time at the library in the morning and met Bobby for lunch afterwards. Bobby got home from work a little early and I went to see a patient, which is highly unusual for a Friday. Later on, we walked to a nearby park for Natalie to play and run off some energy. We made dinner at home and just hung out the rest of the night.

Saturday brought on many activities. Natalie had swimming...her last one for this session. She seems to really enjoy swimming even with her little outbursts on occasion.

After swim, followed Pumpkin Works. We were supposed to meet the group from church but were running late and just walked around ourselves. There were quite a few free things to do...thank goodness because it would have costed $27 to go on the hayride for 3 adults and 2 kids (the kids were free)...that's right, $9 a piece to ride a wagon with straw seats...what?!  Plus, this place...where we have gone the last few years) had a horrible corn field drought, so the corn maze was pretty pathetic...actually, not much of one at all, but they were still charging to participate. We ended up being there about 30 minutes or so and headed home. 

Not exactly...unless you are willing to spend a LOT of money...haha

Fall 2012: 2.5 feet tall

Later in the day, around dinner time, we headed to the Cory Apple Festival for a fish dinner and exploration since we had never gone before. It was a nice little festival, which I kind of compared to a scaled down Covered Bridge. 

We stayed plenty busy...Sunday has church and lunch in store...then some rest, maybe?!

Happy 4 Months, Aubrey!

Aubrey is 4 months old today!  Time is flying!

She is starting to get a great little personality...laughing, smiling, and cooing all the time. She just started rolling over last night!  I was taking this picture last night to show that Aubrey is CLOSE to rolling over:

...then, shortly after, she actually rolled all the way over twice, but I didn't capture it on video.

She has only rolled over to her right side so far, but I know this is just the beginning.

She doesn't go to the doctor until next week, so then we'll find out how big she actually is. With her still eating every 2-3 hours, you would think she would be huge!

Aubrey @ 4 months:
1. Not really wearing any 0/3 month clothes, more in 3-6 months/6 month clothes.
2. Still in size 1 diapers
3. "Talking" a ton...and loudly at that
4. Rolling over to her right side
5. Still getting up every 2-3 hours to eat...making this mommy not very happy! At least she goes back to sleep well usually after eating.
6. Laughing at her sister, often!
7. Losing her baby hair...now she's looking more bald like her sister did!
8. Stopped her Prilosec because it doesn't seem to make a difference whether she takes it or not.
9. Starting to reach for her toes and hanging toys
10. Loves sucking/chewing on her hand

Pretty soon we'll be starting cereal I imagine...I'll wait to see what the doctor says.

I love watching the girls together, they are so cute! I hope they are great friends as they grow up!

Echoloud

Tonight since our cookout plans fell through, we headed to a local church that had a fun family event they call Echoloud. I'm not really sure what it means, but we had fun. Fall is definitely in the air because it was actually quite chilly tonight. The fireworks were great, and overall just a fun night.

Saturday

Our Saturday started off busy with a 5K run at 8am, followed by swim lessons for Natalie at 9:15.  We were supposed to have a cookout, but plans fell through so at least I didn't have to clean the house...haha!  (even though it desperately needs it)

Natalie LOVES guacamole!  She had a very green lunch today: green beans, guacamole, green grapes and cheese (wasn't green...haha) and a little bit of italian beef.  She couldn't get enough guacamole!

Busy, Busy

I feel like lately we are constantly doing something. I like being busy at times, but because I would consider myself more of a homebody, I would rather just enjoy some "chill" time or cleaning time. The little cleaning I am able to get done is all stuff that gets messed up right away and you feel like after all that work nothing got accomplished..ever feel like that?

I have a feeling I'm going to feel like this for the next, oh, 18 years, at least!  Even though it seems like we are barely home, our house is a mess...probably because we just run here and there while just dumping things here and there.

I really need to go through the girls clothes because Aubrey is getting almost too big for her 3 month stuff and some of her and Natalie's things are for warmer weather and since it's getting cooler I think it's time to put all that away. Aubrey is fitting pretty well in 3/6 month stuff right now and Natalie does best with 18 month stuff, which I think I was jumping the gun on size for warmer stuff because it seems like she has quite a bit of 24 month stuff that is just too big right now...hopefully by November/December time it will be fitting her better.

It's also time to buy Natalie some new shoes because her size 4 shoes are getting a bit too snug!  I still can't believe how expensive kid shoes are...almost as expensive as some that I buy!

Our seemingly time-consuming week and it's only Wednesday night...

Monday: picnic and park playdate with Abbey, Allison, and Max...I was so mad because I brought my camera but left my memory card at home and it was a cloudy day so the lighting would have been perfect for me to work on my skills!  At 6, Bobby had a softball game (no Zumba for me), which was followed by an impromptu trip to our old neighbors' house for a quick trip to DQ. By the time we were done with that it was time for baths and bedtime.

Tuesday: I am crazy busy at work, which I am thankful for, just not used to...my wallet will like it though!  My average of 5-7 patients a WEEK has now turned into 5-7 each DAY.  I was feeling achy and flu-like all day, but once I came home to pump in between patients, I took a Motrin (wasn't running a fever) and headed to my next patient with 90 degree heat blowing on me but yet I still had goosebumps.  Luckily, that patient wasn't home so I had a little break. Once I picked up the girls, got home, fed Natalie, I was feeling horrible. I didn't care if Natalie was destroying the whole house, I just wanted to lay down and sleep. Of course, Bobby had to work late so he didn't get home until closer to 6p. He took Natalie to small group and luckily I was able to get Aubrey to sleep and was able to take a 2.5 hour nap!  I was burning up by the end of that nap and my highest fever was 100.2. I won't even get started on what the difference would have been if Bobby had to do everything I did with the kids/work if he was feeling like I did because we all know how much guys milk their sickness!  He did do a good thing by taking Natalie and putting her to bed, but still...it took a lot more effort than normal just to feed her dinner and make sure she had a drink/snack for small group. Of course, Aubrey wanted to wake up every 3 hours to eat. I could have Bobby get up in the middle of the night to feed her, but my frozen breastmilk is like gold to me and it's hard enough to keep up to provide enough for daycare each week, so it's just easier if I do it, plus I hear her cry and wake up anyway.  The whole pumping/breastfeeding is very taxing (more the pumping), but I know totally worth it.

Wednesday: Had 7 visits at work (making me have 2 stops at home to pump). Trying to schedule my patients and picking the girls up at daycare by 4:30 is hard enough, but then to schedule my pumping int he mix...even trickier!  I'm managing but sometimes just feel super stressed out.  I had a meeting at work at 4, so I picked the girls up and took them with me like I've done before and had Bobby pick them up after work. They were with me for almost 40 minutes and Natalie was getting super ansie, so I was glad when he picked them up. I am glad that I work for a great company that does not mind that I bring them, most everyone thinks it's fun to have them there anyway. Aubrey was quite vocal during the meeting, too.  After dinner, we did my run to finish out Week 6.

I think after today, my week will start to calm down...I hope anyway because I desperately need to clean our house!

Puke...

Saturday was a busy day for us. Natalie had swimming at 9:15a and had a blast, but it sure wears a girl out because as soon as we got home she wants to take a nap. She even took a good afternoon nap after eating a good lunch. Bobby had decided to rent a trencher because he was going to trench our yard for the sprinkler system HE wants to put in (I would be fine with just getting a moving $50 sprinklers...even a few if needed). After one pass with the machine and $100 later, he decides he is not going to do it himself, but instead hire someone. He has called a couple people, but we haven't heard back so who knows when it will get done. Plus, we were told our yard would be fixed in September, but now we're hearing October...it will be a year ago that the first guy planted grass (and did a crappy job). It will be nice when we actually have a decent looking yard!

While Bobby was messing around with the trencher, I took the girls to my work picnic. We had fun and were there for over an hour. We ate and played on the playground. As soon as Natalie saw the playground, she no longer wanted to sit in the stroller. So, I got sleepy Aubrey into the Moby wrap with I think EVERYONE staring at how I was doing it, and off to the playground we went.

It is quite difficult chasing a toddler around even with the Moby wrap on because I had to climb, go down slides, and duck under things. Aubrey slept through all of it and had no idea how much fun she was actually having...haha!  Natalie made friends with a much older boy who was 7. She absolutely loved this kid and he played with her great!  From talking with him, he has younger siblings and you could tell that he's probably a great big brother. He was also telling me he plays with his 2 year old brother, but that he doesn't laugh as much as Natalie. She was cracking up every time she saw this boy...she adored him!  It is so cute watching her interact with other kids.

After playing, we headed back to the picnic and left shortly after sharing a sno-cone. Natalie also at an entire hot dog as her "snack" since she had already eaten lunch and cotton candy. This leads me to the title of this blog...puke!

Natalie went to bed great and didn't even wake up after an hour of being in bed like she has been doing lately. However, come 2:30am (cue music...dun dun dun), I awoke to gagging/coughing/crying noise from Natalie's room. Once I got in there, the smell hit me and I knew what had happened (if you have a queasy stomach you may want to skip this part)...puke!  She had thrown up chunks of her dinner and the poor girl was just sitting there crying because it was all over her and her bed, luckily not on the floor this time!

Before I got her in the bathtub, I woke up Bobby because this was definitely not going to be a one-man task. Bobby chose to give Natalie a bath instead of cleaning her bed. I did a load of laundry and helped Bobby get Natalie ready for bed again. Little did we know that she was about to puke all over Bobby and her clean PJs...again chunks!  I was quite impressed with how Bobby handled being thrown up on.  But I guess he has always done the best with cleaning up cat/dog messes. Cleaned her up again...Bobby rocked her and I got a trash can ready which we needed! I don't remember at this point if she puked on me just once or if it was twice, but I think in total she had 4 or 5 PJs on throughout the night, she got me and Bobby, and just felt miserable. I felt so bad for her!

While Bobby rocked her and they slept in the recliner, Aubrey woke up after sleeping for almost 6 hours...yay! Once I was done with Aubrey, I relieved Bobby and quickly after the transfer of sleepy Natalie is when I remember for sure I got puked on, but it wasn't bad at all...no chunks!  After awhile of trying to sleep in the recliner, neither Natalie nor I were comfortable, so I made us a bed on the floor with lots of protection in case she got sick again. She fell asleep good and I fell asleep only due to exhaustion because the floor was so hard even with all the blankets I had down. I'm not sure how much time went by, but I finally got Natalie in bed without anymore episodes and she slept good until 10a and took a great nap today too.

I'm pretty sure this was all caused by sugar. Note to self: do not give Natalie sugar. Last time this happened she had ice cream before bed, so I would bet money that sugar is the culprit. I guess I won't be giving her cotton candy anytime soon.  She feels much better now.

Before our adventurous Saturday night/Sunday morning, Bobby had the girls in the evening so I could go to a photography class. I think the best part of the class was that it was super small, so the photographer putting it on was able to spend a little bit of one-on-one time with us. Her kids (all 5) were our subjects and they are definitely trained well for posing. It was also at a great park I have never been too, but hope to return to camp and take lots of pictures!  Here are some of my favorite pictures from last night:

Today (Sunday) because of Natalie's puking episode during the night, we didn't make it to church because we were all exhausted. I spent a lot of the day folding the massive amount of clean laundry I had piled on the couch and Bobby was mowing our backyard (aka 'the jungle'). Then, his friend came over to watch some football and I got my 20 minute run in...haven't run that long in forever.  I'm glad our Sunday (during the day) wasn't as eventful as our early morning. I really should be taking advantage of the girls sleeping right now, but wanted to get this blog in before the end of the night.

The girls sported their Cowboys attire, but they weren't good luck charms today.

I got this out and cleaned up for Aubrey today and Natalie wanted to enjoy it too...haha!
