Happy Half Birthday, Aubrey! 18 Months

Aubrey's check-up was on Friday, and she got 4 shots! The doctor says she's very healthy and is not concerned that she's not saying many words.

Her stats:

Height: 30.75 inches (between 10 and 25 percentile)
Weight: 20.4 pounds (5 percentile)
Head Circumference: 17.9 inches (between 10 and 25 percentile)

I can't believe she is getting so big!  She still seems little (and is), but she is definitely getting taller!

She was surprisingly great for a mini morning photo shoot!  The pictures definitely show how ornery she is!

Just look at those faces!!!! She's an ornery one, alright!  She is our "throw yourself on the floor" temper tantrum girl! And her screaming...ugh!!!! She hasn't outgrown that one!

18 Month Update:

1. Size 3 diapers
2. 12-18 month clothes (18 month are still large on her, but 12 month is getting too short)
3. Size 4 shoe
4. HATES wearing coats while in the car, so most of the time she wears no coat and we have to put it on her before we take her out of the car, as well as the socks and shoes she takes off!
5. She is into EVERYTHING, but her favorite 'no-no' spots are toilets, dog dish, toilet brush, lazy susan cabinet.
6. She loves playing with books and balls.
7. She likes 'singing' and 'dancing' to music.
8. She says 'ba', 'pa', 'ma', and 'da'.
9. She really doesn't like to be in the car at all and throws a fit a lot!  (We talked about taking a road trip to NYC with the girls for my 30th birthday, but no way are we doing this mainly because of Aubrey. She hates being contained and that will be mostly what she will be if we went).
10. Overall, she is very happy, but very dramatic!
11. Great sleeper and is very routine about her sleep!
12. Has to sleep with her silky edged blanket.
13. LOVES dessert and anything bread related.

Of course, I bought cupcakes to celebrate and Aubrey was all about it!  It took her no time to dig right in!

Happy 18 Months, baby girl!  You are so much fun and we love you so much!!!!

Goose Poop 5K Challenge

During this race, we didn't see any geese or poop...haha!  Bobby and I both ran it, along with Rebekah and Abbey. The route was a good one with enough hills and flat areas to make it hard, but not nearly as hard as the Lake Mingo Trail 7 Mile Run Rebekah and I ran awhile back. Most of the obstacles were in the last 0.1 miles it seemed, but there were a few others along the route too. For some reason, the whole race felt hard to me, probably because Rebekah started our pace out super fast...I'm talking sub-9:00 the first mile. We walked a couple hills and skipped a few obstacles (mainly the ones that you had to climb straight up!  I do not have the arm strength for that!  I did climb and jump and crawl over and under some. Bobby did all of the obstacles except climbing through a car because it wasn't very obvious that you needed to crawl through. I didn't realize there were so many trails in Hawthorne park and the scenery was pretty so it is a race that I would definitely do again!

The girls hung out with Alison while we all ran because there was no way you could have pushed a stroller through some of the areas.

Official results:

Bobby - 26:24.3 31st of 287
Brandi - 30:44.3 76th of 287
Rebekah - 30:50.4 78th of 287
Abbey - 34:08.8 100th of 287

Before
After (Bobby is posing as 'tired' and us girls are posing as 'strong')

Next up:

11/23 Saturday - 5K race in Marshall, IL
11/28 Thursday - Niles Buchanan YMCA Thanksgiving Day 10K
12/8 Sunday - Christmas in the Park 5K

Indy COM 2013

Saturday, while Bobby and my dad went to an Act Like Men conference in Indy, the girls and I met up with my mom and sister for a girls day out to the Indy Children's Museum. We spent about 3 hours there and it wore us all out, but we had fun!  Aubrey especially enjoyed the freedom of walking everywhere she went! The new Playscape area for kids 5 and under is remodeled and really a great space!  The museum wasn't too busy since we got there in the morning, but looked like it was getting busier as we left.

Aubrey loved this little slide...she did it over and over again!
Natalie could have stayed at the sand table ALL day!

I guess the children's museum isn't just for kids ;)

Practicing their balance skills!
They are both ready to help Daddy shovel snow!

Natalie's "scary" face :)
Natalie liked the big moon, but wasn't too much of a fan of the dinosaur noises after awhile, even though she likes to play with the dinosaur figurines.
Aubrey had enough...time for a nap!
The girls LOVED it!

Teething x2!

Talk about frustration times not just 2 but a million!  On top of Natalie's AWFUL bedtime routine STILL and now both girls teething, it has been interesting around our house. Just a couple of weeks ago Aubrey had 2 top molars come in and now she has the bottom 2 molars coming in. She still has all 4 canine teeth to pop through!  Nothing really helps her unfortunately...we've tried orajel, tylenol, teething rings (she hates)...just hoping she'll sleep through it...

Now, Natalie has a bottom right molar coming through. On Tuesday, right before I headed to pick her up from daycare I got a text that Natalie was running a fever, which means she couldn't go back until at least Thursday as long as she stayed fever free for 24 hours. Luckily Bobby was able to work from home because I had a full schedule. So on Wednesday, Natalie stayed home and Aubrey went to daycare. Natalie was back into the swing of things on Thursday, but at lunch at daycare she told Erika that she didn't want to eat because her teeth hurt. I'm guessing the fever on Tuesday was because of teething?!

In lieu of teething, we had tickets to go see Sesame Street Live. Our seats were even better than last winter in Indy. Natalie loved it and danced around and was engaged during the entire show. Aubrey on the other hand paid attention sometimes and the rest of the time she cried, fussed, was just plain mad!  Made for a fun time. It was also at a late time for our kids anyway, especially less than a week after the time change. The show was at 7p, but the girls still seem to be somewhat on the old time, so really the show started at their old bedtime.

Yep! This demonstrates Aubrey's attitude lately...

Yep...

Going back to the weekend, we celebrated Bobby's 31st birthday with some friends and family Sunday evening. We had a good time and were glad for all those that came to make his birthday special. I forgot to take any pictures but we had lots of yummy food!

Happy Birthday, Bobby!
