Impromptu Photoshoot
Bobby had an impromptu softball practice, so I decided to take the girls to the park to take some pictures. My friend, Rebekah, loves photography too and has started up a little side business as well, so I asked her to tag along. It was fun and we took well over 150 pictures...lol! Her camera died, she she shot a bit with mine as well. I think we had some really great ones for a very unplanned session. Enjoy!

15 Month Check-Up
The doctor's office is so annoying! They ask that you arrive early even though it's typical to wait at least 30 minutes after your scheduled appointment time...ugh! I'm Next Friday and the following Monday, we have appointments for the girls at a new pediatrician to see if I like their office any better. I understand that doctor's get behind, but it's getting out of control and I don't feel like the doctors (although they are nice) are really able to spend the time they need with each patient. We had Dr. Lily today and she was nice and all was good, but I'm still planning to change.
The girls were good at the doctor's office and Aubrey had to get 1 shot. She did really well and only cried for a second because I tried to distract her with a game on the phone. Afterwards, we met Bobby at Sam's Club for lunch, then both girls fell asleep in the car. Natalie is not wearing a diaper, so I anticipate a wet bed when she wakes up, but oh well! I'd rather her take a nap and not wake her up from it because it's really hard to get her to take naps at home as it is.
Aubrey's stats:
Height: 29.5 inches (between 10 and 25 percentile)
Weight: 20 lb (between 5 and 10 percentile)
Head circumference: 18 inches (between 25 and 50 percentile)
I guess we just have smaller than average kids because Natalie was in the lower percentiles too; however she was 1 pound heavier and 0.75 inches taller. They look normal to me anyway and the doctor was pleased with Aubrey's growth from her 1 year check-up.
I was highly anticipating to get a First Steps eval from the doctor, but she thought Aubrey was socially appropriate, not concerned that she only says about 4 words (mama, dada, dog, ball...the last 2 are rare to hear). I also told her she still wasn't walking, but has taken up to 13 steps completely on her own. The doctor said Aubrey is just more on the cautious side, which I agree with because she has always just watched and watched, like she is taking everything in.
I had to laugh when I was reading Natalie's 15 month check-up note back in 2012 because a few parts sounded exactly like the stage Aubrey is in:
{From Natalie's note: She is starting to throw small temper tantrums when she does not get her way by closing her fists, crying and basically throwing herself on the ground, as well as grunting and pointing when she wants something instead of using any words to try to tell you what she wants. She loves taking things out and putting them back in, such as things in drawers.}
Aubrey continues to wear 12 month clothes but fits into many 18 month clothes now too.
Still in size 3 diapers and size 3 shoes.
She is very sweet and loves to give hugs and kisses (open mouthed).
She is also such a good eater, I don't know where she puts it since she is on the smaller side!
The girls are twinsies today:

Happy 5 Year Anniversary!
Because we went to Jamaica in July, this was a pretty unusual anniversary for us because we were in Terre Haute and it didn't fall on Labor Day weekend.
Happy 5 Years, Bobby! It's been a fun, difficult, amazing journey! We have such a blessed life and I just need to remind myself of that each and every day and not let small, daily trials get the best of me/us! You are such a great husband and I don't tell you that enough! I love watching you as a Daddy to our 2 beautiful girls! I love you with all my heart!
Bobby had the entire day planned out. He even took the day off work, which was nice! He had planned on doing breakfast in bed...even went out to the grocery store late at night after the girls and I were sleeping. I planned on working out with Rebekah around 6:30a, so I spoiled that plan for him, but he still made breakfast and we ate as a family: french toast, potatoes, and bacon. He did a great job and it was nice not having to make breakfast for a change.
Around lunchtime, we all headed to downtown Terre Haute because Bobby surprised me and took me to a little boutique to pick out a dress to wear for our night out; unfortunately I didn't find anything, but it was a good thought on his part! He even had called the store to set-up a styling appointment, but since the girl didn't call him back to schedule, he wasn't able to set that up. We had lunch as a family at Clabber Girl and the girls loved it since we sat in the museum part where the wheel was moving and Natalie saw the train up toward the ceiling.
After lunch, we took the girls to the park to play for a bit before we had to get back home for the babysitter to arrive, which was my mom (which I figured out) and my dad (which was a complete surprise)!!!! It was nice to see them again since they came to Terre Haute last Sunday evening and left Monday. The reason I was so much more surprised to see my dad was because that meant my parents had to leave their house by 11a to get to our house at 3p. They might be sick of seeing us after next weekend because we'll all meet up in Indy for the Color Me Rad run on Saturday :)
Bobby planned a couples massage at a local spa, which was nice and relaxing. Then, we headed to Bloomington for dinner. I figured we were going to Indy since Bobby said it was an hour away, but after we passed 70, I had no clue where we were headed! It wasn't until we were about 20 minutes into our drive and I saw a sign that said Bloomington 39 miles that I realized where we were headed. Surprisingly enough, I have never been to Bloomington even though I label myself as a Hoosier fan.
While we were away, my parents took the girls to the library for interactive storytime and dinner at Moggers. I know the girls loved having them down and we did too! It was nice to be able to relax and have a good time while we were an hour away and no worries about what time we needed to be back because I knew the girls were in good hands and my parents were staying the night. After the spa, we came back to this gem:
Dinner was AWESOME! We went to The Rail which is labeled as a cocktail/tapas restaurant. Their menu is very unique, along with food and cocktails. I don't know if I would say this is a true tapas restaurant, but got a few different items that I'll list just to show how different they are. Everything was really good! We will definitely return...another date night to Bloomington?!

We later found a yummy ice cream place that probably has just as many odd flavors as it does regular: Hartzell's. Bobby played it safe with chocolate chip cookie dough and I was adventurous with The M.A.C, which is marshmallow, avocado, coconut. Mine was really great and I'm pretty sure it's my new favorite ice cream!!!
Funny story on how we wound up on the main stretch of campus after dinner. Bobby mentioned during dinner that he had planned to go to a comedy show at a place called The Laugh, and how they had an 8, 9, and 10:30 show. Since we were eating at 8, we figured we could make it to the 9:00 show, so off we went. Bobby told me to get us there and he had the address in his phone already so I just pressed start and off we went. As we were getting closer, I made the comment that the area was very residential. Well, yep, it was residential because the address took us to an apartment complex...haha! Come to find out, I google the place to make sure Bobby had the right address and The Laugh is in Bloomington, ILLINOIS...haha! There is a comedy place called the Comedy Attic and they had a show at 10:30, but I didn't really feel like killing an hour and half, so instead we wound up at the ice cream place.
Bobby even printed off a TON of dinner conversation starters because he didn't want me making the comment like I have before "If we weren't married and just dating, I wouldn't go on a 2nd date with you"...haha (yes, I'm mean like that, but in my defense, that date we just sat at a bar and barely said a word to each other...boring)! We actually didn't need them for dinner at all, but we did use them for the car ride there. We didn't get into anything really deep, but maybe in another post I will write down our answers because it might be entertaining?!
Overall, we had a great date and I'd love to go back to Bloomington during the daytime because it looks like a great area!

Labor Day Weekend 2013
Normally, our anniversary is on Labor Day weekend, so we have never been at home since we've been married.
We actually had a low key weekend, stayed at home, stained the playset (still another coat to be done...ugh!), and my parents made a quick visit Sunday night and stayed until Monday afternoon.
While Bobby and I were staining the playset, the girls were playing in the dirt of course and Aubrey won the dirtiest award!
Monday we played in the sprinkler to cool off! Luckily it wasn't as hot as the rest of the weekend because it was actually bearable to be outside!

Potty Training Success!
Oh my goodness! Potty training has clicked (I think...knock on wood) for Natalie!
We have randomly tried to get her to use the potty for what has seemed like FOREVER!!!! On Tuesday night after picking the girls up from daycare, I decided to have Natalie try to go potty and I used the phrase "make the potty wet" and it just clicked! Last night she went 4-5 times with no accidents. Today at school she only went once, but hey, that's progress! Then tonight she went twice before we left to meet her friends at an indoor playland. She went on the public potty and then went twice again before bed! She's a rockstar with potty training right now! I can't even explain how happy I am that this is finally making sense to her! We still aren't all the way there, but we are SO much closer than we have been in the past!!!!
Bobby told her that if she went potty at daycare today that he would buy her ice cream, so we went to the grocery store to pick up ice cream and toppings (Bobby's idea...great idea). Then, once we got home, Natalie got to help make her sundae, complete with:
mint cookies and cream ice cream
star sprinkles
chocolate syrup
marshmallows
whipped cream
...and a cherry on top!
We are so proud of you, Natalie! (I hope I don't jinx her progress by talking about it...lol!)
Some other things I have forgotten to post about Natalie lately:
When we went to the splash park last weekend, Natalie got stung by a bee on her finger because she tried to catch it! She thinks all flying bugs are "ladybugs". So, when she got stung, she was very brave and barely cried. She did say "The 'ladybug' bit me!" Poor girl! Luckily we learned she isn't allergic and we were very shortly on our way to have fun!
"Thank you so more much"
She uses "just" in a lot of sentences and "will not" a lot now.
I'm sure there is more because she is getting so big!
Aubrey news:
