If asked what my favorite part of vacation was, I would probably say the train ride. It was really a great and relaxing time for the most part. The train went from Durango to Silverton and was 3.5 hours each way with a hour break in Silverton to shop/eat lunch. Natalie has been talking about the train ride since the day we booked it. Both girls really did great for the train ride and we didn't even need to use electronics to keep them occupied! Aubrey got fussy a couple times, but only when she was tired and ready for a nap. It was nice that we could walk between cars and that they had a concession cart. The girls were even able to walk around some too, which definitely helped from keeping them from getting stir crazy! If you are in Durango, this is a MUST DO!
The train was literally right on a cliff at some points and the scenery was gorgeous! I believe they said the train only averaged maybe 13 miles per hour, hence why a drive to Silverton takes maybe 45 minutes and the train took so much longer.
