Natalie was miserable the whole rest of the day after her shots, but did smile occasionally during the day. She has been running a fever which hasn't gotten over 100 degrees yet. I gave her some Triaminic to try to take down the fever, so I hope that helps. She is also teething, so with the combination of shots and teething...it made for a long night. She was only content if she was being held. I rocked her to sleep, but we needed to put her in her sleeper and change her diaper so she woke up. Then, it was Daddy's turn to rock her to sleep and of course he fell asleep to. Not sure how long she'll sleep tonight since she hasn't really eaten well...
Her fussiness today made for one tired Mommy, but this Mommy (like many others I'm sure) still had to put away dinner, finish a "secret project" (for Amanda's bridal shower this weekend), pump (blah), and clean up the house/dishes just in case we get a showing (I can only hope). While I was making dinner tonight, Bobby was weeding/weedeating after I had mowed. You would think he would start in the front of the house and weed for the curb appeal, but no, where do you think he started....?! He starts in the backyard behind our fence where a large bush is blocking those weeds. Seriously?! Who wastes their time on that? No one is going to go outside of the fence in our backyard to look for weeds. Only Bobby...and he wonders why I get so annoyed with him at times.
I hope Natalie feels better tomorrow and her fever goes away like it did at 2 months when she had the same round of shots. Poor baby!

4 Month Check-Up
Natalie went to the doctor today for her 4 month check-up. She was very happy and smiley with the doctor, but had to get shots after the doctor was finished and of course was not happy after that :( According to the doctor, she is in the 50th percentile in weight, height, and head circumference.
She now weighs 12 pounds, 14.4 ounces, 24 1/4 inches long, and head circumference of 41 centimeters. She is averaging a gain of 2.5 pounds every 2 months.
Since my milk supply is dwindling and I believe I have at least a month frozen, I discussed the next steps with the doctor. She recommended that when I need to, start supplementing with formula. She recommended Similac Advance since she says studies show it is the closest to breastmilk. Initially when I had Natalie, I wanted to breastfeed until she was 6 months, but at the slow down of my supply and the increase in her appetite, I'm hoping to make it to 5 months!
The doctor also said it is okay to start Natalie on rice cereal and at 5 months to start her on baby food, starting with veggies first so she doesn't develop a sweet tooth :) I'm sure she will definitely have a sweet tooth since Mommy sure does! Bobby and I were talking the other day and I realized that while I was pregnant I ate fruit smoothies like they were going out of style, but haven't had one really since I had Natalie. So, I'm sure she's going to love fruit!
Natalie goes back in 2 months for her 6 month check-up and her last round of shots for a little bit. I feel so bad for her when she has to get shots and drink the nasty rotovirus vaccine (it smells awful, so I'm sure it tastes even worse). Luckily, she is done with that one. She calmed down pretty quickly after giving her a bottle and is napping now.
We are so blessed to have such a healthy and happy baby girl!

Happy Father's Day!
I always knew Bobby would be a great daddy because of the way he interacted with his nieces and nephews, but he has far exceeded my expectations as a father. Although he may not hear Natalie in the middle of the night, if I need him to take care of her, he always gets up to check on her. He's never afraid to change the dirtiest of diapers and will always feed her when he's able. He loves playing with her and Natalie just loves her Daddy to pieces! They have a great bond already and I know that bond will only continue to grow stronger as the years go by. Natalie and I are so lucky to have such a great daddy and husband in our lives. He has taken over the responsibility of "breadwinner" in our family by allowing me to go back to my job part-time. He works hard and sometimes long hours to provide for us. Bobby is such a great man and I am so happy God brought him into my life.
Happy 1st Father's Day, Bobby! You are and will continue to be an awesome Daddy!
Yesterday, we spent the evening with my family.
Today, we went to breakfast with Bobby's sister, her 2 kids, and his parents. Bobby's nephew is named Evan and a while back when he saw the sign for Bob Evan's, he told his mom that was his and his Uncle Bobby's restaurant...Bob...Evan. Quite clever for (at the time) a 6 year old. Bobby has been wanting to take him to Bob Evan's, but the timing hasn't ever quite worked out. Since his sister and the kids (Jeff is already out there) will be moving to Maryland soon, today was perfect. Evan soaked up every minute of it! Later in the day, we went to Bobby's cousin's graduation open house where they had a little beach area for the kids to play. It was definitely a jampacked weekend!
Natalie was tuckered out! As soon as the car started moving, she was out and slept the whole way to Terre Haute (about 3 hours or so). Overall, it was a great Father's Day!

Happy 4 Months!
Natalie is 4 months old today!
She was not very cooperative during her photo shoot today, so I see the attitude setting in...uh oh! She is usually so smiley and happy, but of course not at the time I decided to take some pictures. But, as you will see, she loved when her Daddy got home! She also loved sitting like a big girl in the cart at TJMaxx.
I introduced rice cereal to her for the first time and she ate a tad bit, but was pretty unsure of it. Bobby wants me to wait to do it again until we see what the doctor says on Monday for her 4 month check-up and more shots :(
Natalie is still in 0/3 month clothes and size 1 diapers. She's growing like crazy and moving like crazy, as well! Cradle cap is getting better with the use of using a soft toothbrush and baby oil, so I hope it continues to improve! I tried to take outdoor pictures of Natalie, but her eyes got all puffy and red. I'm hoping that is just because of the sun (even though I had her in a semi-shaded area) and not allergies!
The new house is coming along, but still not finished but all the appliances are in and look great! Our current house has only had 2 showings, but hopefully that picks up over the weekend. It has been on the market now for a week. I'm really hoping we sell this house in a month and no longer than 3 months. Keep praying!

Cradle Cap...Blah
I still can't seem to get rid of cradle cap (aka baby dandruff). I've tried lots of brushing, brushing with oil, letting the oil sit on her head for awhile, but nothing has worked. So, the doctor had mentioned using Selsun Blue and letting it sit for 15 minutes, but I have been hesitant because it seems so harsh for a baby. However, I broke down and tried it, so we will see if it works. Bobby wasn't very happy that I used it, but I was tired of her having to deal with the dry scalp...so we will see.

Are you Funny?
Natalie has had a busy weekend! Lots of time away from the house doing some running around and attending a wedding on Saturday. She hasn't had many naps outside of falling asleep in our arms which has resulted in sleeping through the night this weekend for 9-10 hours. She was very good at the wedding last night. Instead of a standard wedding reception, they had a dessert reception with everything from cake balls to cotton candy to a sundae station. It was really good and they looked beautiful! Natalie was wiped out though by the end of the night.
Natalie has started laughing more often and we captured it on camera. I love her laugh! (I'm sure you will get sick of me saying "Are you funny?", but she laughs almost every time you say it to her)

First Playdate!
Today, Natalie and I drove to Indy to meet up with my friends, Cassie and Stephanie, who have little ones also. Cassie has Gavin who is 2 months old and Stephanie has Kevin who is only 1 week younger than Natalie. It turned out to be a lot of fun and was great catching up with the girls, as well as seeing the boys. Natalie was pretty well behaved and we got lots of great pictures of them!
Later tonight, we had 2 softball games, back to back. It was interesting with this schedule having a baby. I don't think we will attempt 2 leagues next year, one is plenty, especially for Natalie. Overall she was a good baby and only waled once when we were both on the field and that was only because Bobby didn't have enough time to burp her before heading out the field. Luckily, the couple of guys that were in the dugout helped out and it was a 3 up, 3 down inning (thank goodness!)
After such a busy day, I hope Natalie sleeps through the night! She didn't fight going to bed at all, as soon as I laid her down, she was out!
