Cradle Cap...Blah

I still can't seem to get rid of cradle cap (aka baby dandruff). I've tried lots of brushing, brushing with oil, letting the oil sit on her head for awhile, but nothing has worked. So, the doctor had mentioned using Selsun Blue and letting it sit for 15 minutes, but I have been hesitant because it seems so harsh for a baby. However, I broke down and tried it, so we will see if it works. Bobby wasn't very happy that I used it, but I was tired of her having to deal with the dry scalp...so we will see.

Are you Funny?

Natalie has had a busy weekend! Lots of time away from the house doing some running around and attending a wedding on Saturday. She hasn't had many naps outside of falling asleep in our arms which has resulted in sleeping through the night this weekend for 9-10 hours. She was very good at the wedding last night. Instead of a standard wedding reception, they had a dessert reception with everything from cake balls to cotton candy to a sundae station. It was really good and they looked beautiful!   Natalie was wiped out though by the end of the night.

She fell asleep almost immediately after we put her in her carseat after the wedding!

Natalie has started laughing more often and we captured it on camera. I love her laugh! (I'm sure you will get sick of me saying "Are you funny?", but she laughs almost every time you say it to her)

First Playdate!

Today, Natalie and I drove to Indy to meet up with my friends, Cassie and Stephanie, who have little ones also. Cassie has Gavin who is 2 months old and Stephanie has Kevin who is only 1 week younger than Natalie. It turned out to be a lot of fun and was great catching up with the girls, as well as seeing the boys. Natalie was pretty well behaved and we got lots of great pictures of them!

Later tonight, we had 2 softball games, back to back. It was interesting with this schedule having a baby. I don't think we will attempt 2 leagues next year, one is plenty, especially for Natalie. Overall she was a good baby and only waled once when we were both on the field and that was only because Bobby didn't have enough time to burp her before heading out the field. Luckily, the couple of guys that were in the dugout helped out and it was a 3 up, 3 down inning (thank goodness!)

After such a busy day, I hope Natalie sleeps through the night! She didn't fight going to bed at all, as soon as I laid her down, she was out!

And the real estate game begins...

We officially put our house on the market tonight! Tomorrow, the realtor will come out to take pictures and put the sign up and then we are good to go!  Please pray that we sell our home quickly and get a good offer price-wise. This whole process has been very stressful for Bobby and I as a couple. It doesn't help that for the past 2 nights, Bobby has fallen asleep and taken a nap after work (must be nice). This is very frustrating on my end because Amanda (thank God for her!) and I have been doing a lot of work inside. Granted, Bobby has made the backyard look nice and pretty much have the garage organized. But seriously, he's getting on my last nerve with this falling asleep business when there is STUFF to get done!  I just hope this process goes quickly and smoothly!

On a good note, and less of a rant...Natalie is getting bigger and bigger every day it seems. She is becoming much more interactive with her toys and people. She is laughing more consistently now, and it is so cute! I love her to pieces!

New Achievements and Daddy of the Year

Natalie is doing new things every day it seems!  I can't believe how fast she is growing. It's exciting and sad at the same time! She is actively playing with her toys now, especially those hanging from her activity mat. She has started this new thing that she will suck on her tongue, which draws in her upper lip, so she sucks that as well. It is so funny to watch (see video). I caught her on video today rolling  from her belly to her back, which she does quite interestingly (see video). I think she'll be crawling or at least army crawling in no time! It is so neat to watch her achieve each little thing every day.

Tonight, Bobby had a softball game and we had to drive separately since I didn't get home in time to leave with him since I had a patient to see this evening. So, he had Natalie with him. I beat him to the ballpark and was sitting at the picnic tables when he walked up with the baseball bag but no baby. When I asked him where Natalie was, he paused for the moment and said, "I forgot her in the car." Good thing it wasn't longer than 30 seconds since it was in the 90's today!  Natalie was fine, but Bobby sure won't win 'Dad of the Year' with that one...haha!

Funeral and Weekend

Thursday afternoon, we headed up to South Bend for my great-grandma's viewing with the funeral being set on Friday. It was an interesting trip up in the fact that we had a dog, a cat, my sister, Bobby's co-worker's daughter, a baby (Natalie), Bobby and I. Talk about a packed car for a 4 hour trek! We first had to drop Amanda's car off in Greenwood since she would be riding back with her fiance. We hit Indy right at rush hour, but amazingly didn't have any stopped traffic, just slow in spots, but to be expected at that time of day in Indy. The drive felt like it took forever, but that could just be because we were all so cramped.

Natalie was hungry during the ride, and instead of stopping to feed her since we were going to be cutting it pretty close on time for the viewing as it was, I fed her while she was in her carseat. The bottles we use aren't really conducive for that, but we managed. Of course that meant no burping was allowed, which I am assuming caused her fussiness at the viewing (or at least was part of it).

Once we arrived to the funeral home, we had about 30 minutes before it was over. Natalie was not having any part in it! She was super fussy and wouldn't take a bottle, wouldn't burp, and for sure didn't want anything to do with the funeral home!  I think part of it was how cold it was in the funeral home and she was in a summery dress, and being a bad mommy, I forgot to pack a blanket since it was in the 90's in Terre Haute! She was fine outside (with a TON of mosquitoes) where it was warm and it was almost as if as soon as you would pass a certain door inside the funeral home, she wouldn't go any farther and would start screaming. Nothing like causing a grand entrance!  My mom discussed this ordeal with her pediatrics professor the next day at clinicals and the professor thought it had something to do with the "extra sense" babies have (thinking Natalie could sense something bad or sad at the funeral home). The professor suggested we talk with Natalie prior to the funeral on the following day about how the funeral home isn't a bad place, etc...which I did (anything can help) but we also brought a blanket, so I'm thinking maybe she was just too cold for the viewing.

We dropped the cat off at Bobby's parents' house for until we move into the new house, as well as kept Rusty (dog) at my parents' house until we move. It will be much nicer not to have animals or animal hair when we are showing our house! It has been different without a barking dog at the house for every person, animal, or car that goes by. We definitely miss Rusty, but I can say I don't hardly miss the cat! I think the squirrels in the yard even know Rusty is not home, because today we watched 5 of them chase each other around the yard...it was so funny to see. Usually you're lucky to see more than 2 because they are always waiting for Rusty to chase them I believe.

The funeral went well and dinner afterwards was good. The best/fastest service I have ever seen at a restaurant with a party of more than 20, all on different bills! The drive home was uneventful...I slept, Natalie slept, and Bobby drove. Again, Natalie wanted to eat, but luckily this time it was when we weren't too far from home, so burping her once we got home wasn't a problem and she wasn't fussy.

This weekend was mostly devoted to organizing and cleaning up the office and random other stuff in the house to get it ready to sell. I think we have most everything put in storage that we wanted out of the house, so now we just need to get the carpets cleaned, vacuum, dust, and straighten up and it's ready to be on the market! I really hope it sells quickly! I don't see why it wouldn't since it's in a great neighborhood and in my opinion we have one of the best yards since no one is behind us. We will see!

Natalie has been a little fussier than normal during feedings and only eating 2-3 ounces at a time during the day, but early morning and late at night she has been doing her normal 4-5 ounces at a time. It is almost like clockwork for her to wake up at midnight to eat, be changed, then go back to sleep. She had slept earlier in the week 10 hours, 10 hours, 11 hours, 8 hours, 6 hours, and 6 hours. Unfortunately, I think she is getting away from her 10 hours (which was quite nice) and is trending toward the 6 hours (which still isn't bad). She now has a Bumbo seat (thanks to Aunt Kristen) and seems to like it for short periods of time. I am slacking in the picture department, so I'll try to get on top of that!

We are officially buying a house and moving hopefully June 30th/July 1st if everything is ready at the new house!  We accepted their counter offer, so now the fun begins of working hard to get "stuff" out of our house and put into storage, as well as cleaning up to put our house up for sale hopefully next week.

The house we are going to purchase is new construction, so it's not quite done. It was built all year by the high school vocational class, but will be finished hopefully by the end of June. It is 3BR/2BA with a 3 car garage and a full unfinished basement with TONS of potential.

Nothing like adding stress to your first week back to work...haha!  Luckily and unfortunately (money would be nice), I had no patients to see today and Amanda was here so I could run some errands. I met Bobby at Sherwin Williams to select our house paint colors, and it went amazingly well with the help of a great sales associate. I don't think Bobby and I could have agreed if it wasn't for her!  It seemed like she knew every color by heart and had so many great and helpful suggestions!

Now we have to go to HHGregg to pick out our appliances included in the home's purchase price.  I can't wait to move into our new home, but it's definitely going to be stressful. We are going to put our current house up for sale by owner for about 2 weeks and if it doesn't sell, plan on listing it with our agent. We are hoping it sells quickly, so please pray for us!
