Aubrey's 1st Field Trip

Today, was Aubrey's 1st Field Trip at school!  I wasn't originally planning to go, but the teacher asked that any children that were 2 be accompanied by their parent. Luckily my schedule this week was super low so I was able to go. I enjoyed being able to see Aubrey with her classmates, even though she's still really young and doesn't really have friends yet that she talks about or gravitates toward. We went to Pumpkin Works and got to go in the bean maze, learn a little bit of history, see the animals, go through a straw maze, then onto the hayride to find out pumpkin. It was a nice trip with 19 kids that are aged 2-5. Overall the kids did great! Aubrey of course wanted held every so often and wanted to hold my hand, so I'm not sure how she would have done without me there (fine I'm sure), but the teacher may have had to hold her...I don't know. She is definitely quite possessive of her mommy because I drove another little girl who is 4, in our car and Aubrey definitely didn't want the other little girl to hold my hand at all...haha!

Natalie gets to go next week with her class, so I'll be back there again! I'm looking forward to Natalie's trip since she talks about her different friends often!

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!

Last weekend, the girls and I headed up to South Bend to celebrate my Dad's birthday. We spent the afternoon in Indy with Auntie Amanda. We went to lunch and then to play at a very large playground with lots to do. The girls loved it!

We met my grandparents and parents at Evil Czech in Culver for a celebratory birthday dinner, then walked around the streets of Culver to look at the fun scarecrows locals schools and businesses had designed for Culver's Fall Fest. We couldn't pass up a photo-op with Elsa and Olaf! :)

The next day, we had planned to meet up with my high school friends, Jill and Allie, and their kids at Thistleberry Farm, but the weather didn't cooperate so we ended up at my parents house with 6 kids under the age of 4! :)  It's always great to see these girls and their little ones. We don't get the opportunity to do it enough!

Hard to believe we now each have 2 kiddos of our own! :)  Oh how time flies!

The next day we were able to go to Thistleberry Farm with my parents and aunt. Julie with her 3 kiddos came just before we had to leave. It was fun and probably could have stayed there longer, but we had to head off to Indy so I could take some photos.

 
Natalie hated this cow ride from last year when we were in Tennessee, but loved it this year. Aubrey, the daredevil that she is, thought it was fun to stand up every once in awhile!

What a whirlwind, but awesome weekend!

We ended it with spending a quick visit with Cassie and her family, too!

It's getting colder here and we were freezing our patooties off at Bobby's softball game this week!

Fall Family Photos 2014

Normally I have someone take our photos, but I wasn't willing to pay a whole awful lot, nor did we really have time in our schedule, and Brendan who took our photos a couple years ago never got back to me (but I guess I only tried to contact him through FB instead of having Bobby text him). Plus, I wanted to get some in before all the leaves fell. I think we have at least another good 1-2 weeks of awesome, colorful scenery. I don't remember the leaves being this bright and colorful for years!

So...as soon as Bobby got home, I made him change and off we went. We literally had 15 minutes because we had small group tonight, too!  I set-up my tripod, set the camera timer, then ran to my spot, told the girls to smile, and that was that. The girls thought it was hilarious to run back and forth between our picture spot and the camera to check the image. Bobby stuck with me even though he was annoyed I didn't plan this out and it was more of a spontaneous thing!  It seems like it has rained non-stop for a week, and there was no rain, just grey skies, so why not take advantage!

Although I see some flaws with posing, etc. I still LOVE these so much and will probably take our own photos from now on!  No head swapping needed this time around!
