First Tooth

This weekend we went to Indy on Saturday for lunch/dinner at Fogo de Chao's with my family. We couldn't pass up the deal since Devour Downtown was going on and the price was basically half of what it normally is per person! The food was great as usual (the guys definitely enjoyed the unlimited, amazingly cooked meats...12 high quality varieties!).

While we were eating, I felt Natalie's gums and lo and behold, she had a TOOTH. Her 1st tooth is the bottom left front tooth. I was pretty surprised to find it since Bobby had just looked that morning. I'm hoping the tooth is the explanation for why she hasn't been sleeping through the night recently (going on about a 5 day stretch). On Friday night she was up at least 4 times and ate at least 4 oz each time...must have been really hungry!  Bobby had just asked me that morning when he checked for her tooth if it was normal for her not to have one yet.

On Sunday, we headed to Holiday World with my family and a couple we know from our old church. We had a blast...even Natalie! I wasn't quite sure how it would be with a 6 month old along since we are used to just going from ride to ride to ride. It slowed our pace down a little, but the park was not packed, so the lines weren't too long, and we all took turns sitting out with Natalie. We hadn't been for 2 years, so there were some new things, especially in the little kid areas. We got on everything we wanted to and were there from open to close! Natalie was having so much fun that I don't think she would have eaten at all until I fixed a bottle and she saw it. We couldn't have asked for a better baby, she was hardly fussy at all.

1st Carousel Ride

Trying to get her to look at the camera

A little blurry, but she was having fun!

She got to go down the baby slides with Bobby and I, as well as my mom. Liked the splash pad where the water squirts up from the ground, loved the lazy river with Bobby and my dad, got to ride on her first carousel (pictures to come since they are on my parents' camera). She absolutely LOVED every minute I think! I can't wait to take her next year when she'll be able to walk/run around and explore.  The weather was perfect, the lines were very reasonable, and overall everyone had a great time I think!

End of a very fun day...Holiday World 2011

The things I love about Holiday World:

1. It seems like they add something new every year (last time we went they did not have the little baby/toddler slides in the SplashLand area and they were so much fun)

2. It's so clean

3. Can't beat unlimited soft drinks and sunscreen

4. The people watching is ALWAYS entertaining

5. Great deal for your money

Towards the end, we ate at the Pilgrim's Cafe which is in the Thanksgiving section...it was definitely a Thanksgiving feast. The food was excellent for a park!  I wish I would have brought my camera to take pictures, but I know my dad snapped a few on theirs, so I'm curious to see how they turned out.

Unforunately, toward the end of our waterpark experience, we had 2 more rides we wanted to go on, so while Bobby took Natalie to the SplashLand, I went up with my parents and sister to ride Zoombawbe, which is a group water slide in pitch black until you hit the bottom. I had been on this numerous times before our trip today and had never had any problems. Well...today was different. They allowed all 4 of us to get into the raft (now I know we were over the weight limit) and we were definitely "zooming" through the tube. All of our legs did not fit so we had to sit with our knees up in the center. We were going so fast that the tube almost flipped over and since you have no idea what direction you are going or where you are going next, you can't see ANYTHING. As we started to almost tip, my whole left side of my face...ear, nose, tooth/mouth...and my left shoulder/chest area slammed into my mom's knee since I was sitting next to her. I didn't say anything for a little bit because I was pretty dazed/stunned and was in pain. I really had no idea what had just happened! Luckily, my nose was not bleeding, only my mom's knee where my tooth had jammed into it. I seriously thought I was going to lose my tooth, but it's still there (thank goodness). I'm pretty sure I had/have a concussion because I was pretty dizzy walking to a bench to sit down, and I still have a headache today and am really sore! I'm wearing my retainer hoping to keep my tooth aligned and in place :)

Note to self: If there is a weight limit, be aware of it because it's in place for a reason:) The workers may not always enforce it!

Even with the unfortunate mishap, it was a great weekend!  Can't wait to go back next year!
