Aubrey's 1-Year Check-Up!

Aubrey had to get 3 shots today and she screamed bloody murder!  Luckily, a sippy cup with milk made her happy and we were able to get out of the doctor's office with a semi-happy girl!  Natalie was overall well-behaved at the office, thank goodness and thank you for PBS Kids app!

The doctor seemed a bit concerned that Aubrey wasn't walking along furniture, but just tonight was was doing it a little bit. However, the doctor was glad to hear she is taking steps when you hold her hands. She also seemed a little bit concerned that she's only saying 'mama' and 'dada.' She said that at her 15-month check-up (in September) if she hasn't progressed much, then she would look into further, which I took as a possible First Steps referral. So, we'll see.

Aubrey did have a couple of firsts this weekend:
1. Drank through a straw several times.
2. Climbed a whole flight of stairs
3. Today took a couple of steps along the ottoman

Her 1-year stats are:

Weight: 18 lb 9.6 oz (Natalie was 18 lb 11.5oz)
Length: 28.75 inches (Natalie was 28.5 inches)
Head Circumference: 17.5 inches (Natalie was 18 inches)

So...
Length: between 25 and 50 percentile
Weight: between 10 and 25 percentile
Head: at the 25 percentile

Can she get any cuter?!

On a Natalie note, we had a scary moment tonight!  While Bobby was grilling outside and I was cooking inside, Natalie appeared to be doing some type of acrobatic move which resulted in her head thumping into the corner of the concrete step on the patio...ouch!  Poor girl was bleeding and crying, but luckily I was able to get the bleeding to stop and she didn't need any stitches!  The right side of her face is pretty banged up, but she'll live :)  She is one tough cookie!  About 5 minutes after it happened, she already wanted to get back to playing! Silly girl!  Then, in the bathtub, she was being crazy and hit her butt on the spout, so I'm sure she'll be sore and have a bruise there tomorrow, too!

This is after a bath...it looked much worse when it happened, but at least she's still smiling!
