Summer Fun!

For Aubrey's birthday, she got a big girl pool! A 12ft diameter, 30" pool, which is perfect for the girls and perfect for an adult or two to just float around in.  It will definitely be nice for this pregnant girl! It was a little more involved than we expected only because Bobby had to make the are level so that the pool would last longer. He worked hard using a sod cutter, digging and raking to make it just right!  However, due to renting a sod cutter, he decided to use it to cut the grass around the house where we are planning to place rocks for landscaping. A few months ago, we wrote down a list of things we wanted to get done around the house and their priority...the rocks were the LAST priority, but we also didn't have the pool on there at the time either. Oh well.

The girls have been in the pool every single day that we've been able to since we got it up and running this weekend!  I think I may be raising fish instead of humans!  Haha!

Auntie Amanda came down this week to watch the girls and today the water was finally warm enough for her to get in the pool, too!

Another thing marked off the to-do list before baby #3 comes is bunk beds for the girls, so the baby can have Aubrey's crib. Thanks to Amanda, while Bobby worked outside on his project, she helped me put up the bunk beds!  The girls love them!  Natalie is on the top and Aubrey is on the bottom. Natalie already hurt herself on the ladder, but hopefully she learned her lesson this time, even though we had a serious talk with her about what not to do on the top bunk!  I just hope we won't have to make a trip to the ER for a broken bone anytime soon!!!

Now, I can tackle the toy room and convert it to a nursery! The girls have gotten their toy room locked a lot lately and now that we practically live outside, they don't seem to mind.  They get it locked either because they don't listen, behave badly, or just decide to not clean up after themselves.  I would be happy to get rid of all of their toys, but I'm not that mean...yet! :)

I joked after we had the bunk bed set-up that their room is actually big enough that we could keep all 3 kids in the same room and keep the toy room, but I am not about to have a newborn plus the girls all awake at one time!  So, baby brother will get his own room and the girls will continue to share.

I still need to decorate and I still don't really like the orange walls, but Bobby said no painting, so we're stuck with it.  I do like the flowery bedding Aubrey chose for her bed. She's not into characters and I'm glad about that!
