First Indy Zoo Trip 2014

I think the only way we could have taken advantage of more of this beautiful day outside is if we would have been camping!

The girls, my mom, and I all headed out for a trip to the Indy Zoo since the high's were supposed to be in the 60s!  I actually thought this morning and early afternoon were still a little chilly, but by the time we were walking around the zoo, we actually got a little warm with our jackets on.

I knew all the animals would not be out, but there is no way of knowing what exhibits will be off for the day from what I could tell. Either way, we had a great time walking around, but missed seeing the giraffes, zebras, elephants...actually most of the Plains area animals weren't out. We did get to see the Red Panda walking around...I have only ever seen it sleeping in the tree. Also, the gibbons were very talkative today as well!  When we walked into the Oceans exhibit, Natalie went straight for the jellyfish, but they weren't on exhibit either. To top it off, Natalie had been asking to play on the playground before we even got to the zoo and we kept telling her that we would go to it after we got done seeing all of the animals. Then, when we got to the playground, it was closed too!  Poor Natalie just lost it and she was done!  She fell asleep in the car (thank goodness because she really needed a nap). Aubrey had a great day walking around almost the entire zoo with Grandma.  She loved being free from the stroller.

I went to grab my camera out of the car and realized that I left BOTH of my SD cards at home. So, we captured our memories with the good old iPhone.

Spring is coming!

I got 'pouty face' Natalie in my pictures...

When we got home, it was time for a quick dinner, then off to gymnastics for Natalie. Aubrey got to have some one-on-one time with Mommy outside and I was able to get some cute shots of her playing. Then, Aubrey went on a run with me and was a great stroller rider! Aubrey is getting so big!  Pretty soon she won't be a baby anymore and that makes me sad :(

After we got done with our run, Bobby and Natalie pulled in the driveway from gymnastics and we hooked up the bike trailer and went for a ride to the playground at Deming and enjoyed sharing some ice cream from Dairy Queen, too!

What a FUN day!!!!  I can't wait until this weather stays permanently!  We are definitely more of an outdoorsy family than inside!  Both girls were great today! Natalie even got compliments from her gymnastics teacher about how well she listened...she has really come a long way in a few weeks!
