Upward Soccer Wrap-Up

The girls finished out their soccer season! For our first year with Upward, we loved it and will definitely be signing up again! The outdoor league here in Terre Haute may be good for the older kiddos, but I wasn't very impressed with it at all after our experience with Upward.

We had practice once a week and a game every Saturday for the last 8 weeks at 8a or 9a in the morning! That was EARLY for us, but the girls did pretty well overall getting up early, especially after they were excited about running through the tunnel each game after the initial attitude of being scared of running through the tunnel after their name was announced. They were hoping they got to run out of the tunnel even at practices by the end of the season. Ha!

Each week, they had a devotional at practice and halftime of each game and learned about 4 virtues:

Self-Control
Contentment
Peace
Love

They prayed before each practice and game. I really loved this league, and the girls did too! At ages 3 and 4/5, they obviously have a lot to learn about soccer, but they enjoyed it and that's all that counts. I didn't take my 'big' camera until the last game mainly because I wanted to enjoy watching them and cheering them on. Thanks to the Vandivers and my parents for being their biggest supporters during their season!

I wish I had their enthusiasm and energy at 8am!

Praying before the game

Aubrey is probably most excited for the high-5's she receives rather than playing soccer! Haha!

...or picking her lips (constantly) instead of running after the ball

High-5's to her best bud, Landon!

Teaching good sportsmanship!

End of the Season Shoot-Out!

This girl...and her tongue!

The next afternoon was soccer awards, followed by an Easter egg hunt. Luckily, all three kiddos were very well behaved because it made for a LONG afternoon, but they enjoyed it even with no naps and no lunch! It was pure chaos!
