15 Month Check-Up

Natalie had her 15 month check-up on Friday morning and since I was in the hospital with Aubrey, Bobby got the opportunity to take her. She also had to get a vaccination shot at this visit. I think this may be the first time Bobby had to take her when she had to get a shot.

The doctor told Bobby a few times how she thought it was so wonderful that a dad came to take their child to their appointment because she doesn't see dads too often.

Natalie weighed 21 pounds (between 10 and 25 percentile) and was 30.25 inches long (between 25 and 50 percentile).

The doctor was pleased with her growth and development and didn't see any problems at this time. However, it was confirmed that Natalie has eczema that will be treated with a topical steroid cream for 10 days for the current flare-ups she has and we are to use Cetaphil lotion on her. Also, because she still has a runny nose, daily, we are now to give her a 1/2 teaspoon of Zyrtec each day because the doctor still thinks she has allergies.

Natalie continues to use "doggie" as her absolute favorite word!  She loves pretending she is talking on the phone, even when she has no phone in hand. She is starting to throw small temper tantrums when she does not get her way by closing her fists, crying and basically throwing herself on the ground, as well as grunting and pointing when she wants something instead of using any words to try to tell you what she wants. When you ask her where her head is, she puts both hands on the top of her head. A couple times, I have gotten her to point to her nose, ears, and mouth, but that is pretty rare. If asked to bring you something, such as her cup or your phone, etc, she usually gets the right object and brings it to you. I have noticed her sitting and playing a little more often instead of just constantly going from one toy to another and to another (she still does that, but it's getting slightly better). She loves taking things out and putting them back in, such as things in drawers.

She continues to wear 12 month clothes but fits into many 18 month clothes now too.

Still in size 3 diapers and size 4 shoes (but not all size 4 fit).

She is very sweet and loves to give hugs and kisses (closed mouth now).

She is now a BIG sister!!!  Although she has shown a little jealousy at times, I think she already loves her baby sister!

Here is the video of Natalie giving her sister a hug...so sweet!

I LOVE this picture!

Our little Natalie doesn't look so little anymore :(
