Mirena

Today I went to the doctor to get the Mirena placed! I was expecting some pain since last time I was in she said if I've had a baby then it will be nothing (as far as pain, etc). The procedure was completely painless and I would recommend it to anyone!  So, I'll be good for 5 years with it unless we would decide to have another kid before then, it can be taken out at anytime. Bobby and I were discussing the other week about what people on welfare should have done to prevent the government from supporting families with multiple kids when they know they can't afford more, but think it's just fine to rely on our tax dollars to support them. Bobby said the women/men should be "fixed." Although I see his point, I said that is way too permanent of a solution and argued that 'what if' he/she got their life together or circumstances changed? Then, we both came up with the solution of people in this situation should get something like the Mirena. Even if the government paid for it (just like they pay for them to have their babies already, as well as cover the mom during pregnancy/labor/postpartum), it would still be cheaper than the government supporting these families!  This is a very hot topic for me and makes me so mad sometimes because Bobby and I have decent/average health insurance through his work, but it still costed over $1,000 to have each of our girls at the hospital (not including how much we pay every month for our insurance premium). Then, there are families out there that keep having kids even though they can't afford them and OUR tax dollars are going to support them.  There is definitely a problem here!  Okay...off my soap box and onto updates on our little family!

I need to get away from that doctor's office though because of course there are always a ton of people in there having babies/talking about having babies and it gets me thinking, "Do I really not want anymore?"  To answer that truthfully, I'm not really sure. We tell everyone we are done with 2, but right now I'm not really sure. I'm sure these feelings will pass and we will be completely content with just the 2 after a few more months of hormones calming down :) So, no one get their hopes up of another baby Andreae anytime soon for sure!

While I was at the doctor, our friend, Alison, came over to watch Natalie and I took Aubrey with me. Natalie had fun with Alison...I know for sure because she is taking a nap right now and is going on almost 3 hours already!  Alison has joked before that she would like to share custody of our girls...I think I'll take her up on that :)  Aubrey was surprisingly awesome at the doctor's office, especially since I was there for almost an hour and a half before all was said and done!  She slept the entire time with just a couple of awake/upset moments that were quickly fixed with rocking of her carseat. She was smiling a lot more today when we got home. It's fun to have her begin to interact. I can't wait to see what her personality is going to be like!

Aubrey is still sleeping like a champ! Natalie has been good except for her purposeful non-listening lately. I really hope we are going through the "terrible 2's" early because I will hate to see what it is like in 7 months from now if we aren't :/  I have started to put Natalie in 'time-out' in the corner for a minute when she does something bad or will not listen. Of course she thinks it's funny, but smacking her hand and say 'no' was not working because she started mocking me by randomly coming up to us and hitting us while saying 'no.'  I also got out the big girl potty which is a princess potty to have it in the bathroom  to get her used to it. So far, she has stepped into it with both feet, getting herself stuck standing in the potty chair, but has not used it like a big girl yet. She definitely is showing signs of needing to be potty trained since she hides when pooping and also is starting to hold herself at times which is usually correlated to when she pees. I'm not sure when I'm going to get really serious about potty training her?!

In Time Out
Natalie cracks me up with her laughing and talking/'jibbering'!  She has SO much to 'say' lately!

Here are a couple of videos of her:
Being Silly with Daddy

"Talking" in the car after she decided to take out her ponytail...she LOVES to look like a homeless child :)

How Natalie jumps!
