Brodzinski Family Reunion

This weekend, we headed up to South Bend...again...for the Brodzinski family reunion at my parent's house. It's an annual family tradition that has been done for years and years. When I was little I really enjoyed going and have lots of good memories. Right now, it seems like this side of the family doesn't find the reunion or other family gatherings as important or as traditional because many do not make an effort to come. I find this really sad because I want our girls to enjoy some of the same family traditions I grew up to love. Both my family and Bobby's family seem to have forgotten that family is important, and instead sometimes treat fun, family gatherings more as an obligation.

When I was watching the show, 'Secret Millionaire,' the woman on the show said something that really stuck out to me and is oh so right: "It's not about what you have, but WHO you have in life."  I think sometimes with everyone's busy schedules, we forget about this sometimes.

Anyways, we had a good turnout of family and it was a warm, but pretty day.

Here is the group from today! LOTS of family missing!

What Brodzinski reunion would be complete without the corn?

We had all kinds of fun!

Natalie liking her 'Tot Spot'

For some reason she has been plugging her ears for the last few weeks on occasion...not sure why?!

If you ever wondered how a bunch of Polacks try to get a kite down that is stuck in a tree, you should come to one of our reunions :)

1. Try to spray it down with a hose?!
2. Pull it down?!
3. Use a tree trimmer?!
4. Throw football at it?!

or

5. Leave it in the tree since all of the above failed and wait for a nice wind storm to blow it down or possibly be up there for next year's reunion to try the above all over again!

Watching it all unfold
 More about our weekend:

1. Aubrey has been a champ at sleeping lately. Each night she has been sleeping 5-7 hours at a time. Last night she slept for 7.5 hours!

2. Aubrey has her 1st bout of diaper rash, but it doesn't seem to be bothering her at all.

3. Aubrey slept the entire way home from Terre Haute, 1st time EVER!

4. Natalie has decided she HATES sitting in the car for the 4 hour drive to South Bend and back...wish she just slept like in her younger days!

5. Both girls were great this weekend, especially considering all the time in the car since we didn't come up to South Bend until Saturday morning and left on Sunday.

6. 1st time back to church (went to my parent's church) and Natalie was good in the childcare they provide (like usual) and Aubrey slept through the loud music, but woke up when it stopped. I missed most of the service because I had to feed Aubrey, but it was nice to at least be able to participate in the worship music, which is my favorite part anyway!

7. Just realized the 2 teeth Natalie got in awhile back were molars! She handled that teething like a champ!

Seems like lots of firsts this weekend...all mostly good too!  Next weekend, we basically repeat this weekend except we are going up for my 10 year high school class reunion. Has it really been 10 years already?!
