Vigo County 4-H Fair

Tonight, we went to the Vigo County 4-H Fair. It's smaller than the St. Joe County Fair, but has all the same things and basically the same prices...overpriced for food and rides anyway. Our dinner consisted of fried pickles, elephant ear, and lemon shake-up...very nutritious! Luckily Natalie had already eaten dinner. She didn't like the pickles, but did like the breading. She also really liked the elephant ear.

Last year

Enjoying some elephant ear
We got to see pigs, cows, horses, bunnies, goats and sheep. They had a small "petting" zoo, but there wasn't much petting being done since we couldn't reach any of the animals, but Natalie did get to pet a baby pig. Pigs are my favorite at the fair, which mostly has to do with my dad raises hogs when I was little. I wonder what Aubrey and Natalie's favorite will be?

Bobby wanted to take Natalie on a couple of rides. The first one he put her on, she was big enough to be by herself. At first she liked it, but then she started crying...poor girl!  The operator stopped the ride so she could get off (seemed to be a common occurrence with the little ones). The next one, Bobby went with her and she didn't mind it, but still seemed a little unsure.

Here is a video of her on the ride, before she was crying:

Aubrey slept while looking at the animals, but as soon as it was time to decide on food, she cried! I fed her, but she only ate a little bit and then just was fussy while in the stroller and even when being held...the story of her day today.  Not quite sure why she was so fussy today, but I got nothing done because of her wanting to be held.

On a good note, Natalie was good today! :)

Natalie LOVES her doggie!

Daughter, like father (notice their mouths opened)...
