Aubrey's 1st Doctor's Appointment

Today was Aubrey's 1st doctor's appointment. I don't think she was a big fan or maybe she was a little hungry...maybe a combination. I can't say that I would be too happy either if I had to be naked except for a diaper for my appointment. Bobby met us girls at the doctor's office, which I am very, very thankful because although Natalie was "good," she needed much corralling!  Not quite sure how I'm going to do it after this one, but we'll manage.

Aubrey weighed in at 8lb 3.2oz and her head circumference remains at 35cm. They didn't do a height today, but will at her 1 month check-up scheduled for June 29th.

The doctor was impressed with her weight gain and of course that I was breastfeeding. She said she usually doesn't see much weight gain at the 1st appointment, usually it is down from the original birth weight, but Aubrey has proved that she is a great eater even with spitting a lot up at times!  I just love her little baby fat rolls :) The doctor also praised Bobby for being at the appointment since she doesn't see many dads come to appointments.

After the appointment, we all went to Wendy's to get some lunch, well Bobby and I at least. Aubrey slept the whole time and Natalie enjoyed snacking on our fries and chicken sandwich. I was glad Aubrey slept because I am not a huge fan of breastfeeding in public and definitely do not want to breastfeed in a public restroom...ick!  Although breastfeeding this time around is a million times easier, my big boobs do not assist with easy clothing transitions while covering myself with something and getting Aubrey in a good position all at the same time without exposing myself. Only in the comfort of my own home with just our little family present can I do this, otherwise I am in the recliner/rocker in our room.

The start of our 2nd day being just us 3 girls wasn't the greatest, but it could have been much, much worse!  Today, both have been pretty whiny with Natalie requiring a morning nap at 10a after getting up around 8:30a. Aubrey has wanted to be held a lot today and they both seem to cry at the same exact times. I was, however, able to get myself ready (in sporadic spurts, even painted my toenails...much needed), Aubrey bathed and dressed, and Natalie dressed and fed lunch before leaving the house today. I wanted to leave the house by 11:40a, but ended up leaving about 7 minutes late.  Not really too bad for the 1st attempt at leaving the house by myself with my 2 girls!  Both girls are now napping...I have been really fortunate that they seem to nap around the same times, which I hope remains a trend and becomes quite the habit!

Even though the girls have been whiny today, they were super sweet this morning when both were awake. Natalie allowed Aubrey to lay with her for a decent amount of time before Natalie was ready to get down and play.
