What a Weekend!

Whoa! What a busy and fun-filled weekend!

But, before I talk about the weekend, I have to say 'Thank You' to my sister (Auntie Amanda) for coming down this week for an overnight stay to watch/help out with the girls! It allowed me to help out with the basement and we finally have carpet installed in the 2 rooms!  Time to move stuff downstairs! Yay!

Bobby's sister, Kristen, and her family were coming into Terre Haute for the weekend, all the way from Maryland.

~Friday~

Bobby asked me to clean up the house, especially vacuuming and mopping our tile floors. I told him I would try to get done as much as I could. Since Aubrey seems to be only happy if she is attached to you at all times, I put her in the Moby wrap and was able to get almost everything accomplished, but still had some things to do when we got home from a birthday party of a friend we attended. I wasn't able to even hop into the shower until a little after 4p and we needed to leave the house before 5:30p (which didn't happen). During my shower, both girls were awake, so Aubrey was on our bed hanging out and Natalie was in the bathroom with me. However, I could only take a shower if the shower door was open...fun!  Natalie was not happy unless she could see me and since she knows how to open and close the shower door, it was a lost cause trying to keep the door closed.

We headed to our friends' house, Matt and Alison, to drop off the girls. It was the 1st time we were leaving both girls without family, but they had watched Natalie LOTS of times. I was not worried about leaving the girls, but more so worried that Aubrey would just cry and cry for them and drive them crazy. We headed to the surprise birthday party. We gone for about 3 hours. It was a nice little break and Aubrey slept the entire time!  Natalie likes hanging out with them, too!  So much, that she can even say 'Alison' now (she can Rusty, too). We appreciate Matt and Alison so much because they are young and newly married and were willing to watch our kids on a Friday night! By the time we got home we just had a few things to pick up and Bobby's family arrived.

~Saturday~

In the morning, Bobby's co-worker, Chad, came over to hook up the electric to the office (still have the guest room to do). So, we now have power to Bobby's office. The only thing he needs to do still as far as that goes is run his network cable downstairs so he can have internet down there. Jeff and Evan assisted too, while us girls were upstairs hanging out. Once we all got ready, we headed to lunch, then to the park to play on the playground. The kids had fun and when we got home the kids all took naps so they weren't cranky for the Terre Haute Rex baseball game we planned to go to.

Through Bobby's work we had 2 free tickets and 2 food vouchers, so we thought it would be something different to do. I think the kids had more fun at the playground area, Natalie was more entertained in the "cool-off" tent that was misting so you got a little wet. She could have ran around under that tent for hours probably!  I had Aubrey strapped to me in the Moby wrap, so she slept until it was time for her to eat around 9p. We were still at the game at that point, so I headed into the bathroom and stood in the stall for 10 minutes feeding her. Interesting to say the least, but at least I know it is doable. I am glad she latched so well (other than Natalie) because I remember with Natalie I would feel like I was going to explode and would have to have my pump with me or we'd have to go home so I could pump. However, I could give her a bottle anywhere we went and since I'm not comfortable breastfeeding in public, I have to find some place to "hide."

When we got home, I think everyone was exhausted, but we had a fun day!

~Sunday~

We all got around and headed to breakfast at Bev's. It was more of a brunch since it wasn't until 11a. When we got home, the girls took a nap; Bobby and Jeff started working on the fence; Evan chilled out on the couch; Kristen and I just hung out in the house. When Natalie and Alexis woke up, it was time to head to the pool. Aubrey didn't get a chance to get into the pool because Bobby said it had a lot of bacteria because it was cloudy (I guess he would know since he used to be a lifeguard and knows about all those things) and the water was a little cold. However, she enjoyed 'sunbathing' because she slept the entire time!

Time for this Mommy to get serious about working out and tan!
After the pool, the kids played with more water in our yard, with Natalie's water table and the sprinklers. Kristen and I went to the store with Aubrey to get food to cookout. Then, while we cooked dinner, the guys worked on the fence (we now have all the pickets up on the long side).

The kids played hard all weekend. This picture says it all (I don't think I've ever seen her fall asleep with her drink halfway in her mouth)! She didn't even wake up with the bright flash!

We had a fun weekend! Thanks to the guys (Jeff, Tim, and Chad) for helping out with the basement and fence!
